Brûléed Banana Oatmeal Bowls Recipe:

Yield: 2 Servings

Cook Time: 10 Min

- 1 Cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats

- 1 3/4 Cups Whole Milk or Oat Milk

- 2 Tbsp Butter or Earth Balance

- 1 Ripened Banana

- 1/8 Cup Brown Sugar

- 2 tsp Cinnamon, Ground

- 2 tsp Sea Salt

- 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup, For Topping

- 2 Tbsp Dried Apple Chips, For Topping

- 1/8 Cup Toasted Almonds, For Topping (Optional)

1. In a small pot, add whole milk, and bring to a simmer. Add butter, sea salt, and stir in old fashioned rolled oats. Cook for 4-5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

2. Slice banana in half and sprinkle brown sugar over the top. If you have a kitchen torch, brûlée the top or heat a metal spoon over an open flame on the stove and rub the spoon over the top of the banana if you are torchless.

3. Pour the oatmeal into bowls and top with caramelized banana, maple syrup, cinnamon, dried apple chips, and toasted almonds if you’d like, enjoy!

- Running late in the mornings? Prepare this the night before by placing all ingredients in a jar- minus the butter and almonds and leave overnight in the fridge for a simple overnight oats recipe!

- You can also add fresh berries, like cut strawberries or raspberries/blueberries for even more nutrients!
